In the wake of the terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester that killed 22 people and injured dozens more, people from all across the world gave their support. At the front of those showing their support have been the two Manchester soccer clubs – United and City.
With Manchester United playing for the Europa League title not even a full 48 hours after the tragedy, the club became an even bigger symbol for the city. From a moment of silence to black armbands to banners, the clubs showed their support before United ended up defeating Ajax 2-0 in Stockholm.
Immediately following the attack, the Manchester clubs came together under the banner of #ACityUnited and are using their combined power and influence to raise money to support the victims and their families.

Soccer is the “beautiful game” for a reason and this is a beautiful example of the impact it has beyond 90 minutes.
